Ce volume est le 344e d’une éphéméride créée en 1679 qui a paru sans interruption depuis sa création. Ancienne par sa conception, mais toujours moderne dans sa réalisation, la version actuelle s’appuie sur une partie des récents développements méthodologiques menés à l’IMCCE.

La compréhension des maisons ne peut pas se faire sans intégrer cette notion de continuum d’une maison à l’autre. Le contenu d’une maison dépend directement de la maison précédente. L’astrologue qui a parlé de ce continuum entre les maisons est Steven Forrest dans son livre « Le Ciel intérieur ». Les douze signes du zodiaque
Le zodiaque est un cercle de 360 degrés entourant le Soleil, la Lune et les planètes. Il est segmenté en douze points appelés signes, portant le même nom que les constellations devant lesquelles le soleil passe au cours de l'année1. On trouve des évocations du zodiaque vers -1700. Il a été établi par des astrologues afin d’interpréter les présages et observer le mouvement des astres vers -10002.
Les signes de zodiaque tels que nous les connaissons aujourd'hui sont un héritage des Babyloniens qui a ensuite été transmis aux Grecs, aux Romains puis aux Arabes3. Ces douze signes sont répartis entre quatre éléments qui fondent l'ensemble du monde : le feu, la terre, l'eau et l'air4. Chaque signe du zodiaque est divisé en trois parties appelées décans.
Bélier : 21 mars - 20 avril.

Omicron has rattled the world economy but its true effect on growth remains to be seen
Paris (AFP) - After limping its way back from the Covid pandemic last year, the global economic recovery has been rattled by the Omicron variant’s rapid rise.
The travel industry has been thrown into disarray again, workers have been forced to isolate at home and governments are facing a stark choice between imposing restrictions or letting the economy muddle through.
Could the highly-contagious Omicron variant have a severe impact on the recovery? Or will its mild symptoms keep the economy from sinking again?
- How bad a hit on growth? -
The World Bank on Tuesday trimmed its global forecasts for 2022, warning that “Omicron-driven economic disruptions” among other factors, would cause growth to “decelerate markedly” this year.
The Washington-based lender said growth would slow to 4.1 percent after the 5.5 percent rebound in 2021 but warned it could be as low as 3.4 percent.
World Bank President David Malpass expressed concern about the “huge toll” the pandemic is taking on poor countries, pointing to “troubling reversals in poverty, nutrition and health.”
The head of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, warned last month that it too may slash its global growth forecasts due to Omicron.
The IMF has previously banked on growth of 5.9 percent for 2021 and 4.9 percent this year.
To soften the blow on the economy, US health authorities have cut the isolation period for asymptomatic cases by half to five days.
Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s, told AFP he expects US growth of 2.2 percent in the first quarter, more than half lower than a previous estimate of 5.2 percent.
“Omicron is already doing economic damage, as is clear from weaker credit card spending, a decline in restaurant bookings, air flight cancelations, and many schools going back to online learning,” Zandi said.
“However, I do expect Omicron to pass through quickly and for growth to rebound in the second quarter, and growth for the year to be unaffected,” he added.
“Broadly, I think each wave of the virus is doing less damage to the healthcare system and economy than the previous wave.”
In the eurozone, tighter restrictions, consumer caution and absenteeism will reduce economic activity in the next few weeks, but the economy will rebound in February, according to Andrew Kenningham, chief Europe economist at Capital Economics.
Developing countries with lower vaccination rates face greater uncertainty, and a zero-Covid policy in China could put hamper growth in the world’s second biggest economy as it locks down entire cities.
- Will tourism suffer? -
The travel industry was looking forward to a rebound in 2022 after it was devastated by border closures and lockdowns.
But the emergence of Omicron during the key winter holiday season caused thousands of flight cancellations, cruises to be forced to dock and fewer hotel bookings.
Investors, however, have been optimistic, as shares of airline and cruise companies have risen in recent weeks.
“The markets seemed to be looking at the post-Omicron period,” said Alexandre Baradez, analyst at IG France.
- Will inflation worsen? -
The economic recovery has had an adverse side effect: Inflation that has soared to decades-high levels in the United States and Europe as energy prices soared and rising demand faced supply shortages.
Central banks have insisted that high inflation is only temporary and prices will eventually fall, but it has hurt consumers and businesses.
“Little is certain about Omicron’s impact on consumer demand, but people who stay at home because of the variant are more likely to spend their money on retail goods rather than services like dining out or in-person entertainment,” said Jack Kleinhenz, chief economist at the US National Retail Federation.
“That would put further pressure on inflation since supply chains are already overloaded across the globe,” he said.
Supply chain bottlenecks caused shortages of a slew of a materials last year, driving up prices of many products. Higher demand for products on goods on supply could further fuel price increases.
The Federal Reserve rattled markets last week as it signalled that it was ready to tighten monetary policy more aggressively to tame inflation.
- End of stimulus? -
Governments deployed massive stimulus programmes in 2020 to save their economies, piling up $226 trillion of debt, according to the IMF.
Furlough schemes to keep people employed “made sense” when there was so much uncertainty and entire industries shut down, said Niclas Poitiers, research fellow at Bruegel, a Brussels-based think tank.
“I don’t see yet the necessity for massive funds to the economy,” Poitiers said.
The United States and Europe are instead investing in structural programmes, such as President Joe Biden’s $1.75 trillion “Build Back Better” social and climate spending plan.

Half of Europe on track to catch Omicron as China locks down millions

Copenhagen (AFP) - More than half of people in Europe are projected to catch Omicron by March, the WHO said Tuesday, as millions in China locked down again exactly two years after Beijing reported the first Covid-19 death.
The highly-transmissible variant has ripped through countries at breakneck pace, forcing governments to impose fresh measures and scramble to roll out vaccine booster shots.
Europe is at the epicentre of alarming new outbreaks alongside mounting hospital admissions and deaths while the World Health Organization said Tuesday Omicron could infect half of all people in the region at current rates.
“The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) forecasts that more than 50 percent of the population in the region will be infected with Omicron in the next six to eight weeks,” said Hans Kluge, regional director for WHO’s European office.
The WHO’s European region covers 53 countries and territories including several in Central Asia, and Kluge said 50 of them had Omicron cases.
One week of new Covid-19 cases
Kluge confirmed that Omicron is more transmissible than previous variants, but stressed “approved vaccines do continue to provide good protection against severe disease and death – including for Omicron”.
The warning came exactly two years after the announcement of the first person dying of a virus only later identified as Covid – a 61-year-old man in Wuhan, China, where the illness was first detected.
Since January 11, 2020, known fatalities in the pandemic have soared to nearly 5.5 million.

China largely tamed its initial outbreak with a mix of lockdowns, border closures and mass testing, but flare-ups in some major cities are testing that Zero Covid strategy just weeks before the Beijing Winter Olympics.
Cases are surging across Europe, including in Germany where fresh measures have been imposed
The city of Anyang in Henan province on Monday night told its five million residents not to leave their homes or drive cars on the roads, China’s official Xinhua news agency said.
Last week, the one million people in Yuzhou – also a city in Henan – were told to stay at home. Xi’an, home to 13 million people, is in its third week of lockdown.
China reported 110 new local virus cases Tuesday, a tiny figure compared with the hundreds of thousands emerging daily in global hotspots such as the United States.
But they are a cause of alarm for Chinese authorities as Beijing prepares to host the Winter Games, with the event already expected to have tight coronavirus safety protocols.
Hong Kong, which has some of the toughest coronavirus border restrictions in the world, also ramped up its curbs Tuesday to fight an Omicron outbreak, shutting kindergartens and primary schools until early February.
The same day, Japan extended until the end of next month a strict Covid border policy that bars almost all new foreign arrivals.
Japanese authorities also announced the reopening of mass vaccination centres as they fight an Omicron-fuelled surge.
- ‘Pretty angry’ -

Health experts maintain vaccines are among the most potent tools available against the pandemic.
But the deep scepticism and often violent opposition to jabs in many countries came into sharp focus last week when Australia cancelled the visa of the world’s top men’s tennis player over Covid shot requirements.
The unjabbed, vaccine-sceptic Novak Djokovic won a legal challenge against the government on Monday, however, and is looking to defend his Australian Open title despite an outpouring of anger in the country over his exemption.
“I can imagine some people will be pretty angry about it,” said 22-year-old fan Harrison Denicolo, who felt Djokovic should be allowed to play.

In Italy, however, Prime Minister Mario Draghi urged people to get shots as new restrictions came into force Monday, barring the unvaccinated from a large number of public transport and venues such as restaurants, gyms and cinemas.
“Most of the problems we are facing today depend on the fact that there are unvaccinated people,” he said.
The issue of unequal access to vaccines was again raised Tuesday as the World Economic Forum warned that the widening gap was threatening the cooperation needed to tackle common challenges such as climate change.
“A greater prevalence of Covid-19 in low-vaccination countries than in high-vaccination ones will weigh on worker availability and productivity, disrupt supply chains and weaken consumption,” WEF said in a report.
